As I continue to push myself to become a better photographer I continuously set new goals. This year, a major goal I set for myself was to photograph more of what I wanted to shoot commercially. This meant more personal projects revolving around adventuring, lifestyle, sports and fitness. Since fitness has always been a major part of my life and huge passion of mine, I love when I get the chance to shoot it. What makes it even better is when you have an amazing model to work with. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to shoot with Julie Stevens over the weekend, and created some killer portfolio worthy images! (check out her portfolio here!).
I would have never gotten the opportunity to work with Julie, had fellow photographer Travis Neely not reached out asking advice on a good location in Scottsdale. After helping him find a sweet location, he very graciously extended an invitation to come shoot with Julie as well. We took turns as each other's voice activated lightstand, bounced ideas off each other and we both came away with some really great images! You can check out some of his photos from the shoot on his blog here.
All the images were shot with my Canon 6D, a Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens and a 3 stop (.9) ND filter. They were lit using a single Einstein E640 strobe in a medium softbox.
