A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of photographing Alan (20) and Melissa (16) Madsen. They are the son and daughter of Sharon Madsen, an amazing nutrition consultant managing her own company Food Sense A to Z, and her website is foodsenseatoz.com. If you have ever spent 20 minutes with these two siblings you can see they really care about each other. They are not your average brother and sister thats for sure, most likely due to their unique life story. Now, I won't go into all the details about what they have been through because it's not my life to share, but this family has been through some tough times. And let me tell you, they have come out on top, and as a much stronger family!
From what Sharon has told me, "their lives were turned upside down by a one time serious incident of Domestic Violence that put Sharon and the kids in great danger. Even though from that day forward Sharon and the kids were on their own and had to find their way, there was always something they had....They had each other! Working together and supporting each other was a team effort and to this day over 7 years later the bond between these 3 family members is strong and solid." Their story is truly inspiring to me, and makes me want to spend more quality time with my brother and sister when I get the chance!
